219 Improved Zipper
("Parent Cartridge")
Invented by P.O. Ackley, Hervey Lovell
Vernor Gispon (in slightly different versions)
with a much steeper version by Harris Brader.
Interestingly the 219 Zipper started as a
necked down wildcat of the 25-35 Winchester
WCF until it was put in production from 1937
to 1964 by Winchester.
The 219 Improved Zipper is basically a neck
down  30-30, 25-35 or a 219 Zipper case with
a much steeper angle on the case to neck, from
26 degrees on the 219 Zipper) to 13 degrees,
which provided more powder and power.
The 219 Improved Zipper is a hard item to
make: by annealing  25-35, 30-30 cases
or fire-forming 219 Zipper cases.
All cartridges (30-30, 25-35, 219 Zipper and the
219 Improved Zipper Wildcat where derived
from the 38-55 Winchester case.
