.460 Weatherby Magnum
The Weatherby Collection
The 460 Weatherby Magnum introduced in 1958 is the King of the Weatherby Magnum line.
It was made by necking out the 378 Weatherby Magnum case to except .460 projectiles.
As the 378 Weatherby Magnum case is a blown out 416 Rigby case to increase powder capacity, then necked
down to except .378 projectiles, so then, 460 was Wildcat cartridge of the 416 Rigby Parent Cartridge.
The 460 Weatherby Magnum is loaded with 300 to 500 Grain projectiles traveling at up to 2,775 feet per Second
to produce up to 6,800 Foot Pounds of Energy.
