| The Phoenix Metallic Cartridge Company was in- corporated in South Coventry CT. in 1874 by Joseph Merwin and Milan & Henry Hulbert. They produced Rimfire Cartridges until app. 1891, and it is estimated the Raised "P" was used from 1878 to 1891, when the company closed in July of that year. This 41 Short Rimfire with Raised "P" is from that period of time. Please note: The Peters Cartridge Company used an impressed "P" on there headstamp, so this is indeed a Phoenix Cartridge. |
