| 450 Ackley Magnum |
| The 450 Ackley Magnum was designed by the late Parker Ackley, a great gunsmith and experimenter of rifle wildcat and propietary cartridges. The cartridge was introduced in 1960 by necking out the 375 H&H belted case to a 45 caliber and filling the case to capacity. This moved a 465 grain monolithic solid projectile to a velocity of 2,422 feet per second, delivering over 6,055 foot pounds of energy. |
