The 9x18mm Makarov was developed in Russia by Boris Semin and based on the
(then) German Experimental 9x18mm Ultra cartridge.
It was introduced in the early 1950s for the Makarov and Stechkin auto pistols and some machine guns.
The 9x18mm Makarov cartridge is between the 380 Auto and 9x19mm Luger in power.
PLEASE NOTE: YOU CANNOT USE THE 9x18mm ULTRA IN THE MAKARV PISTOL.
