The SMAW is not your average
tracer cartridge, it is two cartridges, one small cartridge blank inside another cartridge (7.62x51 brass necked up to 9mm) which launches the larger than average tracer projectile.
The cartridge is a 9mm rifle cartridge with a High/Low system to have
the cartridge arc more like the
rocket path.
This round is part of the Shoulder Mounted Assault Weapon (SMAW) Anti-Tank Weapon, 83 mm
rocket family.
The cartridge is used to match the trajectory of the rocket and is used
to 'sight in' the 83mm Rocket. |
