7mm Remington Ultra Magnum, aka 7mm RUM
The 7mm Remington Ultra Magnum
(.284" Caliber) was introduced in 2001
as the 4th Remington Ultra Magnum,
joining the .300", .338" and .375"
Remington Ultra Magnums.
All the Ultra Magnums are based
on the .404" Jeffery case blown out and
necked down to except their different
projectile diameters.
The 7mm Remington Ultra Magnum
delivers 30 % more energy then the
7mm STW ( Shooting times Western)
at 400 yards with a muzzle velocity of
up to 3,600 feet per second and energy up
or over 3,880 Foot pounds per square inch.
With projectiles from 120 to 175 grains in
weight , this is an excellent long range
hunting cartridge.
