U.S. Military Experimental
This cartridge designed for a light machine gun, in the early 1970s.
The 6x45mm (S.A.W.) for (Squad Automatic Weapon).
It was discarded in 1976 by the U.S. Army for the 5.56mm or (223 Remington).
It was not in regular production at the Frankfort Arsenal, and is considered
a true experimental.
Headstamp as seen here is (FA 73) for Frankfort Arsenal in 1973.
Product is becoming  hard to find. Steel cartridge case, and steel bullet jacket.
As these cartridges were removed from the clip, there maybe very
minor scratches on the steel cases.
