This cartridge originated in Greece for the Greek military for use in the 1903 Mannlicher bolt-action rifle, and it was the
first of many cailibers chambered in this rifle.
Later it was used in the Austrian Mannlicher Schoeauer rifle for sporting use.
There is a "Rimmed" version; 6.5x53Rmm Mannlicher used in Dutch and Romanian
rifles in 1892 -1893.
Not to be confused, or the same as the 6.5X54mm Mauser, 6.5x57mm Mauser, 6.5x55mm Swedish Mauser, 6.5x53.5mm
