| The 6.5x50mm Japanese was introduced in in 1897, and was use by the Japanese Military in the model 38 Japanese bolt aciton rifle until the end of World War II. It has a "Semi-Rimmed" Case and is a short cartridge compared to most 6.5mm Military cartridges. Many rifle came back into the USA after the war, but were rechamber to other calibers due to the shortage of ammunition. To my knowlegde, Norma of Sweden and Precision Cartridge Inc. are the only current makers of this cartridge. |
