| Before the solid copper and brass cartridges were the rolled or coiled copper cartridges, and
before the coiled copper cases were the paper case 577 cartridges. I have identified this one as a Mark V, 577 Snider Cartridge, as shown in “The Boxer Cartridge in British Service” book by B.A. Temple, on Page 46, brown paper no stripes. This cartridge was produced in 1867 only, at the Woolwich Arenal, England which makes it almost 140 years old. Excellent Condition Limit One |
