50 Alaskan
Proprietary  Rifle Cartridge
The 50 Alaskan was developed by
Harold Johnson and Harold Fuller of
the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska, sometime
in the 1950s.
Harold Johnson necked out the .348
WCF  (Winchester Center-Fire) case
to .50 cal,  and Harold Fuller developed
the barrel, marrying a .50 cal barrel
to an old Model 1886 rifle.
This Big fellow cartridge started out as
a true wildcat cartridge.
This is a true proprietary rifle cartridge
used in custom built lever action rifles in
only a few fine custom gun shops
