| The 500 BPE, BPE for Black Powder Express was introduced in the
1860's in a wide range of case lengths; (1&1/2", 2", 2&1/4", 2&1/2", 2&5/8", 3" and 3&1/4"). Popular in Africa until the arrival of the 500 Nitro Express, with Cordite (Smokerless Powder) in 1901. These Eley coiled cases were produced in the 1800s before the Solid Brass cases were developed. They are fresh from the package. Well over 100 Years Old. |
