RIMLESS
RIMMED or FLANGED
The 5.6x 50Rmm Magnum is a European Sporting Cartridge developed by Fredrick Heym and DWM and introduced
in 1968 or 1969, and it was followed by the rimless version or 5.6x50mm in 1970.
The 5.6x50mm Magnum is more powerful than the .223 or 5.6x45mm NATO and 222 Remington, but still short of the
.22-250 Remington.
This cartridge is still supposedly used in Europe today, but very hard to find in the USA.
