The 470 Nitro Express was introduced in the very early 1900s. and it was only introduced as a Smokeless Cartridge,
not black powder.
It was introduced as a replacement cartridge for the 450 Nitro Express that was banded in India and Sudan at the
time of it's introduction.
By far one of the most popular cartridges of it's day, and still is very popular today.
