| The 454 Casull was developed in 1957 by Dick Casull and Jack Fulmer. It is basically a lengthened 45 Colt and you can shoot 45 Colt ammunition in a 454 Casull revolver, which makes it a good revolver to own. This cartridge is a handful, as it can put out almost 2,000 foot pounds of energy, with a 240 grain projectile traveling at over 1,900 feet per second. That is twice the energy of "Dirty Harry's" 44 Remington Magnum, but still a little less then the 460 S&W, but not a lot less. |
