| The 44 Colt was introduced in 1871 for the U.S. Army, but only used until 1873. The cartridge was used in the Colt 1860 converted percusion revolver and Remington 44 Army revolver. It has been obsolete since 1940 by the Large Cartridge Manufactures: ( Winchester & Remington, UMC and others) except for a few small ammunition companys. |
