|Introduced in the 1880s, the 44 Bull Dog cartridge was an American design to be used first in the
British Webley revolvers and later in American Harrington & Richardson (H&R) revolver and
a few other makers. It was only produced by American and Canadian manufacturers.
It was shorter and less powerful then the 44 Webley cartridge and was discontinued in 1939.
The cartridges for sale below are over 75 to 100 years old and sold as a collectible only,
with no guarantee they will fire.
These cartridges were outside lubricated at the factory when they were loaded, the lubrication
has dried over time, it can be cleaned with paint thinner. Some cartridges may have stains.
