The 400 H&H Magnum was introduced by Holland & Holland in 2003 for the
Europeon countries.
Holland and Holland had a lot of requests for a cartridge in the .375 H&H size that
would produce 6,000 foot pounds of energy.
In response to the request, Russel Warren of Holland & Holland developed 2 cartridges
to fit the bill, the 400 H&H (.416 cal) and the 465 H&H, both based on the 375 H&H case.
It offers a big game, 400 caliber
bore that will work in a conventional (.375 H&H)
action but avoids some of the problems with excessive pressures of other .416 calibers. |
