| The 40-70 Winchester was introduced in 1894 for the Winchester Model 1986 Lever Action Rifle. The 40-70 was used in the same rifle action as the 38-70, but was more powerful than the 38-70. The caliber was discontinued it 1911 from the Winchester rifle line and the ammunition was discontinued in the mid- to late 1930s. A hard caliber to find, Limit One Cartridge per Customer. |
