The 380 Short and Long (Rifle) center-fire  were introduced in the 1870s as black-powder
cartridges for British rifles and later the cartridges were used in  European Revolver
Handguns. They were very close to the 38 Short & Long Colt cartridges in size. This makes
this a British Rifle cartridge and a European handgun cartridge.
