| The 38-55 Winchester, or 38-55 Ballard was introduced commercially in 1884 for the Ballard No 4 rifle and later for the Winchester 1894 and Marlin 93 Lever Action Rifles, along with Colt and Savage rifles. It was a popular cartridge and is still produced today (2008). |
