| This is a Proprietary Cartridge designed by Sako Rifle Company and Federal Cartridge Company. It just became available in late April 2006. The cartridge is a necked up .308 or rather "307 Rimmed" Winchester to .338 Caliber. This cartridge has a velocity of 2830 feet per second. 200 feet per second more than the standard .308" round in the 308 Winchester, with the larger diameter .338 projectile. Only in the Sako Rifle. |
