22 Winchester Auto
The Winchester 22 Auto Cartridge was introduced in 1903 by Winchester for the Winchester Model 1903 Semi-Auto Rifle. The rifle has not been produced since 1937, and Winchester stopped making the cartridge in the 1970's. The purpose of the cartridge was to prevent action-gumming of blackpowder ammunition in a semi-auto rifle. Remington, and others also made this cartridge, but it is NOT the same as the "22 Remington Automatic Cartridge"! and the two cartridges are NOT interchangeable. I measured the two different cartridges and got these measurement: 22 Winchester Automatic Cartridge by Old Western Scrounger : Case Length: .658", Overall Cartridge Length .906", Case Diameter .248" 22 Remington Automatic Cartridge by Remington: Case length .685: , Overall Cartridge Lenght .936" Case Diameter .241"

I believe but am not 100% sure, that these were produced by Navy Arms in the 1990's for the now sold, Old Western Scounger Company. Now Obsolete. This is "like new" ammunition for collecting or shooting in the Winchester Model 1903 Rifle only!
