| The 22 Extra long was introduced in the early 1880's and was chambered in Remington, Ballard, Wesson, Stevens rifles and later in Winchester's M1903 and M1904 single shot bolt action rifles. It is also reported it to be chambered in some Smith & Wesson revolvers. The Cartridge was loaded with approximately 6 grains of black powder and used 30 to 40 grain projectiles. The over-all- length is approximately 1.149" to 1.159" Ammunition production stopped approximately around 1935, so these cartridges have been obsolete for at least 74 years. A very scare it item to find. Limited to one cartridge per customer, unless we agree to more. |
