22-15-60 Stevens
~
The 22-15-60 Stevens was
designed  by Charles H. Herrick
and introduced in 1896 for the
Stevens number 44  and 44 & 1/2 Single Shot Rifles.
Basically a lengthened 22 Extra
Long Centerfire, which is 1.406 " (OAL*) to the 22-15-60 Steven
which is 2.297" (O.A.L.*)
*O.A.L. = Overall Length
Given how thin the cartridge (.225" Diameter for the  Projectile to .263"
at the base before the rim)
it is very tall for the diameter,
almost a 10 to 1 ratio.
22-15-60 =  .22" diameter projectile,
15 grains of black powder, and a 60 grain projectile.
It has been obsolete since the early 1900s.
These are UMC Head Stamped by Union Metallic Cartridge Company.
