Not to be confused with the 43 Spanish (11.15x58Rmm) or 43 Remington (11x53mm),
the 11mm Mauser (11.15x60Rmm, 43 Mauser) was the first of many cartridges
designed by Paul Mauser.
The 11mm Mauser was adopted by the German Military in 1871 for the M71 single-shot
bolt-action rifle, and later used in the Model 71/84, tubular magazine repeater rifle.
The cartridge was also used for sporting purposes in the late 1800's in Europe and Africa,
with minor use in the USA. It is now long obsolete and no longer produced even in Europe.
The cartridges here have a heavy wax on the solid lead projectile and some wax on the
cases; this will clean up easily with paint thinner for display if needed (see picture).
