| The good news is Winchester has come out with this very nice new commemorative box with nickle cased special "DUKE" head stamp 44-40 cartridges in a special "100 Years of John Wayne Birthday " box. The bad news is there are not many available and due to the poor packaging of Winchester and the distributors in the system, only 6 boxes out of 10 in the case are fit to sell, as 4 out of 10 boxes are dented or scratched badly. So these boxes will be hard to find in good condition. Add to that the cost of new ammunition is up 100% over a year ago, plus this item is at a premium cost to the retailer, so they are not cheap. Due to the way Winchester made these boxes, they may have very few and very small (less then 1/32") minor scratches on the box, see picture. Caution: They scratch very easily! We will package them very carefully! If we can find any boxes to sell, only singles cartridges for now. |
